Wooden pallets are a huge hangover from the booming logistics trade in this country. But fear not – they can be easily upcycled into fantastic new features for your home! Here are 4 awesome ways you can upcycle pallets…
A characterful headboard
I’ve seen all sorts of funky headboards in my time – ones made of vinyl records, ones made of slate split face tiles – but this is one of my favourites for it’s stripped-back simplicity! Simply sand it down so there are no nasty edges, give it a lick of paint (a nice pastel chalk paint will work well, and it sticks to anything), and then fix it to the wall at the head of the bed!
Where to find wooden pallets
As mentioned earlier, all kinds of deliveries come on pallets these days – so lots of regular folk are left with them hanging around. Ask your friends and family if they’ve got any, check local Facebook selling pages (where they’re often going in bulk for cheap), and Gumtree never has a shortage!
Take it outside
